Beef Tallow - A Nesvog Homestead Tradition

We are going back to our roots! Passed down from Grandma Nesvog, her grandsons, our amazing meat cutters have been rendering down beef fat to make delicious tallow. Beef tallow is a substitute for butter or oil in cooking and baking. From Grandma's homestead in Shining Bank Alberta as a girl she used to make soap with the beef tallow, churn butter and live off the land.

In addition to reducing our waste, the boys are using the beef tallow to make soap! So far we have vanilla & lemongrass and cedar & orange made with essential oils.
